The Slanted Look - Robert Doisneau

Robert Doisneau's "The Slanted Look" was born in 1948 on the rue de Seine in Paris. The man who described himself as a "poacher of the ephemeral" used a technique that he was particularly fond of, the "affût". This work is part of the series called "Romi's Window", which hides several mysteries. We investigate the life of this man, undoubtedly the most prolific of his generation, one of those post-war "makers" of images who were not yet called "photographers". A look back at this period, when Doisneau was not yet the star of the still image.
