The Breast Bowl

The Breast Bowl
Created in the 1780s by the prestigious Sèvres factory, the Breast Bowl is an unusual piece of porcelain that has intrigued and fascinated for over two centuries. Commissioned by King Louis XVI for Marie-Antoinette, this teton-bowl is said to have been moulded on the queen's breast... A legend that contributes to the magic of this iconic piece. It disappeared during the French Revolution and only reappeared at Sèvres in 1970. Until today, we will also see that this piece inspires designers. Over the centuries, they have vied with each other in imagination and talent to give their own version of the famous teacup.
