Severed Heads

Severed Heads
Sculptures of severed heads are on display at the Granet Museum in Aix en Provence, among many other relics dating back to 300 BC. We will visit the archaeological site of the oppidum of Entremont. The capital of the Salyans. With the archaeologist Patrice Arcelin, we will get to know these Gauls better, to better understand their rites. Rituals common to many peoples throughout the world, as we will see with Yves Le Fur, the director of the collections of the Musée du quai Branly. This survey of art will take us back to a time when Gauls and Romans were fighting for territory but also sharing their cultures.
