Gautier Deblonde
Born and raised in France, Gautier Deblonde came to London in 1991 to work as a photographer. In 1999, the Tate Gallery published his Artists, a collection of portraits of artists. He photographed the creative process for Ron Mueck’s sculpture Boy for the Millennium Dome in London. Published by the Anthony d’Offay Gallery, this series of photographs won a World Press Award in 2001. In 2002, he collaborated with Scottish director Lynne Ramsay on the film Morvern Callar and published a book of the same title (ScreenPress, 2002). His photographs have also been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain, Tom Blau Gallery, La Chambre Claire, La Maison de la Photographie, L’institut Français de Varsovie and La Galerie du jour, Agnès b. The Fondation Cartier in Paris commissioned and screened his first documentary film, Still Life in 2013.
