Tom Otterness, born in 1952 in Wichita, Kansas, is a sculptor whose works adorn many public spaces in the United States. The best known, The Real World, is in Battery Park in New York. His realistic sculptures mostly represent people or animals, but he is also a committed artist and political and social themes are often present in his works.
