Born into a bourgeois family in Provence, Cézanne began studying law before turning to painting. He moved to Paris where he met Monet, Renoir, Pissarro and Sisley and becomes a member of the Impressionist movement. But the work of Cézanne, nourished by his failures, going beyond Impressionism, and is probably still the most misunderstood and even more controversial.
