The HOTEL 128 is certainly the main reason of the residency aura: every year artists are invited to occupy the 128 rooms of the huge building and transform each one of them into their own personal universe.

In 1972, after a period of artistic self-doubt and a series of film experiments, Andy Warhol returned to painting. A subversive at heart, he abandoned Hollywood stars and seized upon the symbol of late 20th-century totalitarianism, Mao Tse-Tung, transforming him into a pop icon. Ten years after his first Mao, in 1982, the Pope of Consumerism visited China. 26 years later, we retrace his steps for 5 days in China with Christopher Makos, rediscovering his mythical journey with Andy Warhol.
