This week the hunt focuses on the Guildhall Art Gallery in the City of London and its world-class collection of Victorian paintings. With the booming urban population during the Industrial Revolution, some artists found their subject matter in the wealth and poverty of the cities around them. Others embraced the Aesthetic movement, and reacted against the realities of modern life by offering beautiful, escapist dreamlike scenes. Today's public will have to look hard to spot the meticulous copy of a C19th masterpiece painted by artist Anne Wright.
