The vacuum experience

AInspired by the famous French writer Georges Perec in his short novel "Tentative d'épuisement d'un lieu parisien" (1982), this performance movie depicts in an unusual portrait the architect Alain Moatti in a one day long vertical trip in between the first and the third floors of the Tour Eiffel. Along this path around the tower's huge central hole, the architect not only evokes the redevelopment project of the first floor led by his Paris-based office Moatti-Rivière but also reflects on the symbolic force of this monument and its unique identity within the urban history of Paris.
