JR

Originally from a Street Art background, JR came to photography the day he found a lost camera in the metro. Whether in the Parisian suburbs, in Israel or throughout the world for his project Women are Heroes, JR develops a work that gets close to people with their own history and environment. Away from the traditional press or art circuits, he exhibits his photographs by posting them up on the location where they were shot and throughout the world, from Paris to New York and from Los Angeles to Phnom Penh. A committed artist, JR was awarded the TED Prize in 2011.
