Reza

Born in Iran under the Shah regime, Reza was twenty two when he was imprisoned and tortured because of his photos. In 1979, he covers the Islamic revolution and must flee the country two years later to avoid repression. Living in exile in France, he wins the World Press Photo award in 1983. As a witness of conflicts, revolutions and human tragedies worldwide, Reza's work is featured in the international press. In 1992, he creates his own agency: Webistan. From 1983, he also gets involved in humanitarian projects and in 2001 he creates Aina in Kabul, a NGO training young Afghans in communication and media.
