The church's foundation date Notre Dame is unknown but dates back to the 7th century later . Its reconstruction in 1100 is traditionally attributed to the Ide Countess of Boulogne , wife of Eustache II , comrade in arms of William the Conqueror and his side represented on the Bayeux Tapestry recounting the conquest of England in 1066. C is this building belonged to the Roman crypt rediscovery in the 19th century . From the 13th century, when pilgrimages to Our Lady take flight , the church is the subject of several transformations. The nave , framed originally receives ribbed vaults , and in the 14th century the building was enlarged with a Gothic choir . In the 15th century , the Duke Jean de Berry had built a new portal ; in the 17th century the choir is closed a new fence and a new rood screen offered by the Duke of Aumont .
