From the wilds of the Scottish highlands to a classic Kentish seaside scene, new host Stephen Mangan joins co-host Dame Joan Bakewell at some of the UKs best loved beauty spots to witness this battle of the brushes to find out who will be crowned &#8220;Landscape Artist of the Year 2018&#8221;. Filmed across the summer at National Trust and World Heritage Site; Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal Water Gardens, Broadstairs Beach, Loch Fyne, Inveraray Castle, Felixstowe Docks and Greenwich Park, each heat sees eight professional and amateur artists complete a landscape work in only four hours to impress the judges. The grand prize is a life changing experience for any artist &#8211; a \u00a310,000 commission to create an artwork to commemorate the First World War that will enter the prestigious collection of The Imperial War Museum.  Also joining in the fun at each location are fifty wildcard artists who battle everything the British weather has to throw at them for the chance to win a wildcard place in the Semi-final.
