“Portrait Artist of the Year” is an exciting competition where talented artists compete to win the coveted title of Portrait Artist of the Year. Hosted by Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell, along with expert judges, the show takes place at the Wallace Collection in London, one of Europe’s most beautiful art museums, as they search for a new portrait talent. The artist who impresses the judges the most will progress to the semi-finals and have the chance to win a prestigious commission: painting a portrait of actress Kim Cattrall, known for her role as Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, for the Walker Gallery.<\/p>\n

The artists have only four hours to create a portrait of a celebrity, with challenges that include painting stars such as David Tennant, famous for his role as the Doctor in Doctor Who, Elizabeth McGovern, best known for her portrayal of Cora Crawley in Downton Abbey, Derek Jacobi, who starred in Les Mis\u00e9rables and Vikings, and Kim Cattrall herself.
