Nicknamed the \u201cpeasant of avant-garde\u201d, Fernand L\u00e9ger (1881-1955) developed a very identifiable style to be associated with the cubist movement. Inspired by industrial modernity, (\u201cPlane in the Sky\u201d), Fernand L\u00e9ger\u2019s figures and colours were interwoven in an abstract manner as in \u201cThe Big Black Divers\u201d. Discover his simplified shapes with shadows under their eyes and the monumental figures like those in the \u201cLeisure, tribute to Louis David\u201d, which brought him to fame.
