An intimate portrait of this artist, a central figure in Optical Art and a forerunner of Street Art, who died on July 27th 2019, at the age of 95, a few months after this film.<br \/>\nCarlos Cruz-Diez has constructed his discourse on color, its instability and the movement that accompanies it. &#8220;I&#8217;ve always wanted to cast the color beyond its support, project it into space,&#8221; he explains, &#8220;the color is autonomous, fleeting, in perpetual motion. to maintain in the past, but color is like life: a permanent present. &#8221;<br \/>\nThe Center Pompidou-Metz asked him to imagine the space around the museum and to conceive an artistic work, as part of an exhibition devoted to color. Thus, Carlos Cruz-Diez imagined several ways to invest this space. This film follows the conception and the realization of this work, since its parisian workshop of the 18th district with the Center Pompidou-Metz.
