In 1900, he joined the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and furthered his studies at the Bern Academy of Fine Arts. There, they discovered French Post-Impressionism and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beauxarts.com\/grand-format\/le-blaue-reiter-en-deux-minutes\/\"><strong>Blue Rider.<\/strong><\/a> The Blue Rider was a group jointly founded by <strong>Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc<\/strong> in 1911. This group of Expressionist artists ended in 1914 with the outbreak of World War I.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW31314092 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\">The name &#8220;Blue Rider&#8221; refers to<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beauxarts.com\/grand-format\/vassily-kandinsky-en-2-minutes\/\"> Kandinsky&#8217;s<\/a> <\/strong>1903 painting, <\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\">Der Blaue Reiter<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW54100316 BCX0\">.
