The Angoul\u00eame Festival<\/strong> celebrates its 50th anniversary! Since 1974<\/strong>, this festival in the Charente region of France has brought together thousands of people: fans, publishers, authors, illustrators and even producers of comic-book-related films and animated series. This annual event is a must for comic book fans from all over the world, and for the curious young at heart. For 3 days, visitors can discover and immerse themselves in the world of renowned artists and authors\u2026 a unique and captivating experience!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The history of the Angoul\u00eame Festival goes back to 1974, when Francis Groux<\/strong> and Jean Mardikian<\/strong>, both passionate about comics, decided to create an event dedicated to this visual art. The festival began modestly, with a handful of authors and comics fans getting together to share their common love in this small Charente village. Since then, the event has continued to grow and broaden its scope, reflecting the diversity of contemporary comics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now an iconic event on a global scale, this festival organizes a new edition every year at the end of January. It features exhibitions showcasing the work of emerging and established artists, conferences, signing sessions and round-table discussions with experts, creators and fans. Not only does this event give you an eyeful, it also provides an opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas. What’s more, the weekend also sees the presentation of the Fauves d’Angoul\u00eame<\/strong>, prestigious comic book awards for the best works in various categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifty years after its creation, the Angoul\u00eame International Comics Festival remains an essential pillar of the global comics scene. While the festival continues to evolve to showcase the latest trends and innovations, its legacy endures as an unmissable celebration of the ninth art<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
