The Italian painting has a primordial place in the history of art. Its international influence allows Italy and its major cities to exhibit collections of world-famous Italian Renaissance art. The Uffizi Gallery displays the world’s finest collection of Italian paintings and European works with Da Vinci or Goya. Since 1873 the major works of Michelangelo became the emblem of the Gallery of the Academy which also exhibits the works of Botticelli or Giotto. The Pitti Palace also own the works of Raphael, Titian or Caravaggio.
