Monet is recognized as one of the creators of Impressionism, the leader of the movement, the more convinced and most constant of its members. He knows a difficult start, seeing his works systematically denied by the various lounges. Only after a year in London, when he moved to Argenteuil, he will know the real success, painting the most famous paintings of the Impressionist movement, from 1871 to 1878. He spent the last 40 years of his life in Giverny, where he split his time between painting and gardening, and where he gradually lose sight without ceasing to practice his art.
